New Permit Fees for City of Jacksonville.

Beginning July 1, 2011, there will be new and updated permit fees for wells drilled in Duval County. All wells will now have a permit fee and the increase in existing permit fees are substantial.

Previously, the only wells requiring a permit in Duval County were commercial and residential Floridian Aquifer (Artesian) wells. The rates for these wells were $90 for commercial use and $20 for residential use. After July 1st, 2011, the permit rates for Artesian wells are $300 for either commercial or residential. As you can see, this represents a substantial increase that must be accounted for when quoting a well.

The new fees also impact wells that previously did not require permit fees. These wells are shallow than Artesian wells. and consist mainly of your rock wells and shallow wells. The new permit fee for these wells in residential applications is $150. Commercial fees vary between either $150 or $175 depending on intended use.

There are more fees associated with a variety of other wells drilled in Duval County, but for the purpose of this article and scope of work for Florida Pump Service, we are only mentioning the commercial and residential fees.

For more information you can visit the well permitting page at City of Jacksonville online. Or by clicking here.
